An Event that Happened Some Time Ago

Hi everyone, this post would be about an event that happened on the first Sunday of June(7th June). This event was organised by the iSpark PSG and Mr Tan Kok Kim seemed to be the main organiser. The event was actually a walk in Telok Blangah Hill area. I did not want to go at first, but my parents dragged me along. Fortunately, it did not turn out to be as boring and tiring as I had expected it to be.

A few other families turned up that day. Aloysius Poh, Qi Dong(a former schoolmate in 1I1 currently) and Christopher(from 1I1) and their families were the ones that met my family at the ageed starting point. Mr Tan K.K. and his family met us there. I was surprised to find out his children was still rather young.

So, we started on our walk once everybody was introduced and had made friends. The walk started on a high metal walkway whcih wound through a forest and was at least 25 metres above ground. The scenery was beautiful; the air was fresh. It was really a perfect day. My reluctance to come for this event was replaced by a relaxed feeling. It was great. I could see down on the forest and the road beyond them from my bird's eye view on the metal bridge. However, I was soon forced to walk faster to keep up with the rest of my group.

The rest of the walk was fun and rather uneventful as we walked and chatted. Soon , we reached HortPark, our final destination. Here's how it looks like:

The park was great. There was a lot of fun things to do there. Oh, I forgot to mention, Timothy Lung and his family met us there. Apparently they had arrived at the meeting place later and had traced our footsteps. There was a huge lawn (shown in the first picture), where we ran around and ate ice cream(bought from the nearby Adam's cafe).

Then, the kids (including me) went off to see the butterfly park. At first, it was a bit of a letdown as we could not even see a single butterfly. Luckily, Mr Tan's son noticed some of them eating cut papayas at their "food place". We spent a few minutes ooh-ing and aah-ing over them, but soon got bored and ran off to the interactive playground. We attacked the climbing part first.

We probably spent a lot of time at the playground as soon our parents came to get us and announced that it was time to go home. That day was a day spent well. It was a very relaxing and fun day!
